My proposal for this weekend is a beautiful tour with another Glacier, the Glacier de Bionnassay. The horizontal distance to walk is about 15 km. Here is my proposal:
| Date: | Sunday, 28 July 2002 |
| Site: | Tour de Tricot (2120) |
| Classification: | Medium |
| Altitude: | 2120 m (highest point) |
| Vertical distance to climb: | 920 m |
| Climbing time: | 3h00 |
| Total hiking time (both ways): | 5h30 |
| Starting point: | Le Champel (1205 m) |
| Remarks: | Glacier of Bionnassay |
| Access: | Motorway direction to Chamonix. Come out in Le Fayet. Take route D902 to St. Gervais-Les-Bains. About 2 km after in direction to Les Contamines-Montjoie we arrive to Bionnay. In Bionnay take small road to the left driving us to Le Champel. Park somewhere there. Driving time from CERN: 1h15 |
| Meeting point: | CERN Cafeteria (Main building) at 8.30 am |

In the URL http://excursiones.salicio.com you can find information on the outings.
It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm globes, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.
Have a lovely weekend!
Cheers!
Jose.
